The dog tag probably belonged to a soldier from Combat Group A of the 5th Armored Division of the US Army, who were passing through the nearby town. I have not yet been able to find out anything more about the soldier's fate.

I was able to find out the following: - The stamp was issued before July 1943 (since the stamps no longer had an address after that) - The T42 stands for the year of the tetanus vaccination - The A to the right of "T43" is the blood group - The C at the bottom right means that the wearer was Catholic
