The earring was found over 30 years ago - back then during a classic field inspection without a metal detector. Mrs. Werben, who had been a volunteer archaeological monument preservation officer in the Einbeck region since 1982, died in 2019 at the age of 88.

Then she would certainly have been happy that her discoveries would become visible for posterity.
