Note on cleaning:
This find has been cleaned chemically or mechanically, which can lead to the destruction of the intact patina and surface of the find. All finds should first be presented to the responsible archaeologist for identification in order to decide on further cleaning.
Removing all the patina with the help of "coin cleaner" was not a good idea at all! The copper surface now looks very damaged. The brooch probably belongs to the Art Nouveau period, i.e. the beginning of the 20th century.
Yes, that was a very unfortunate/stupid thing and goes back to my beginnings. 🙈 I'm uploading more photos and 2 videos of the uncleaned state, where you can see the patina - I had made a backup before cleaning. You only make that mistake once. Let's see it as a cautionary tale of a failed find cleaning. Cleaner used: Markus Brüche silver/universal cleaner diluted 1:20. Top cleaner but used on the wrong find. The correct thing to do here would have been to clean only with water and carefully with a soft brush (baby toothbrush).

Now the question is: should I bend it open or not? What do you think? I would like to see what it looks like inside, but it could also make a crack.
