This is a beautiful book clasp from the 16th century. Great find! Please take a photo of the top side, which is usually decorated.

Thank you! Despite the corrosion, the classic decorative elements are still visible: - circular eyes around the rivets - filed edges - engraved lines across the longitudinal axis. There are also often diamond-shaped or grid-shaped engraved areas between two transverse lines.
