The "Brakeler Pfennig" is a joint coin issued by the Diocese of Paderborn under Simon I of Lippe and the noble lords of Brakel. It depicts a bishop enthroned with two cross-staffs on the obverse and the town of Brakel with a three-towered building and the Brakel coat of arms on the reverse. It was minted in Brakel between 1247 and 1277.
