Very nice piece. It was _screwed_ into the tap and when it was unscrewed the beer flowed out? Maybe there was a flow hole further down in the thread that broke off. 🍻

Exactly: this is the rotary lever of the rotary cock, the screwed-on cone with the passage is missing.
