Interesting. Do all opposite sides have to add up to 7? That's not the case for all of me.

Then he could be deliberately rigged!

Only with modern 6-sided dice must the sum of the opposite numbers add up to 7. Otherwise, this is often not the case. This regularly observed circumstance probably has nothing to do with "loading." The game—which we don't know in detail—will not have been affected by the system used to mark the number of pips on the sides. It is only "loaded" when manipulation of the surface or weight distribution results in one side coming to rest preferentially.

Small lead dice exist from the Roman Empire up to the 18th/19th century. However, most are likely modern; there are even some made from musket balls.

Could you please record the weight and edge length again so we can compare it with other cubes. And is there any evidence of its dating? For example, from other finds in the immediate vicinity?
Hi, sorry for the late reply. I didn't get around to it sooner. I've added the information and added photos of each side. Edge length a little over 2 cm, irregular edges. In the immediate vicinity, I found nothing but trash. 2-3 meters further away, on the same field, I found a primer (VT-45EI8SI8).

Thanks for the size information. 2-3 meters is already "direct surroundings" in a field 😁
