A hammered silver Penny of King Henry III, struck at the Canterbury mint by the moneyer Nicole between the years 1250 and 1272.
The obverse features the neat round facing portrait, with a beard of three pellets either side of a larger centre pellet, indicating the coin class of 3a or 3b. The reverse shows the voided long cross, with three pellets in each quarter, and the name of the moneyer and mint. This coin is in about very fine condition, and has good facial details. It is a good example of this class.
