Ah, ok.😊 Thanks. Where does it say anything about Peine Ost?🤷🏻

They have already travelled quite a bit. The Principality of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel extended beyond the city limits of Brunswick. Peine lies directly on the border between the Diocese of Hildesheim and the Principality of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel.

😂Thanks, I know that much. But how do I know that the coin comes from Braunschweig? Braunschweig in Hannover = Peine Ost, 96 and BTSV😎

😂 sorry, I was confused for a moment. There is no mention of Braunschweig anywhere in the inscription. You can only tell by the ruler's monogram and the type of coin. It was only minted like this in Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel. On one side it says "Deo et patria" = God and Fatherland. On the other side it says "of fine silver".
